A Day in the Life

Usually, Kaydee's days consist of eating, playing, sleeping, and chores with Mom. :) She decided to share her daily activities with you, she is usually quite proud of herself for helping out as much as she does! :) We began the morning With a diaper change, the prunes from yesterday did their job, so Kaydee was a happy girl. It was a bit warm, so she changed out of her fishy pajamas and into a long sleeve onesie she picked out herself! Almost imediately, she started playing her favorite game recently...."Let's try and eat my big toe."

Since she was in such a good mood, I decided to bring her outside to enjoy one of her most favorite things, FLOWERS. :) She played for about 30 minutes in the sun, laughing at mommy and discovering flowers. Once the bees discovered us, we headed back inside. (just in case) :)

After coming inside, Kaydee helped me get ready. :) She holds everything I need until it's all put away. :) She thinks it's funny, and she fits perfectly in the sink.

Then we got distracted.... before I could finish my MAD mascara skills, Kaydee found herself in the mirror, and we had to give in a little bit. She also does this before bath time. She loves the mirror. :)
Then we had to evacuate the bathroom....Kaydee found her night time can of formula, and knew exactly what it was. Before the screaming started, we ran out of the bathroom and headed to the toy mat for some play time before I had to make lunch.
Kaydee was having a grand little time. The thing with play time is, once she hits her maximum attention span, all hell breaks loose. She was playing with her storybook singing worm, and when she realized she couldn't fit the whole thing in her mouth, she leaned forward, squeezed the thing as hard as she could, and screamed bloody murder. Her face turned all red....the moment I picked her up she was fine again...It get stressful when your mouth isnt big enough for storybook reading worms....

After the frustration, Mom had to eat some lunch and it required some onion cutting, so Kaydee couldnt help this time. She decided to go on a ride in her new Liberty Renegade compliments of Papa, and she beeped away while she watched me make my tuna salad. :) She's already California Cruisin'.
As I type this, she is currently passed out for her afternoon nap. :) She has had a wonderful day thus far, but very exhausting!
So there you have it. I day in the life of a little angel. Now we wait together for our favorite part of the day, when Daddy comes home!

Won't be for a few more hours, but we will be prepared! More to come, more Kaydee and Daddy pictures will be posted soon! She can't wait to see him!

Till next time,

Bread is for Ducks, Not Babies

Today Chris and I thought Kaydee would like a little outing to the Duck Pond. She was dressed up and ready to go! When afternoon hit, the sun was bright, and the weather was perfect! We arrived at the duck pond and picked a spot next to the pond in the shade. When we sat down, Kaydee noticed the ducks, and wasn't sure what to think. Here is her first impression of the bread thieves...
As the adventure progressed, Kaydee watched the duckies eat the bread Daddy threw at them, and the evil seagulls swoop down and abuse the ducks for their bread. (it was actually kind of sad) She was watching the ducks, when she realized I was taking pictures of her, and she became distracted....she likes to model...
She spent some time with Mom, some time with Dad....
Until, she saw what Dad had...BREAD. And why was he wasting it for the ducks! She faked us, and pretended to help. When in fact, she wanted the bread for her own little self...
When the bread was taken away, this resulted in a VERY unhappy Kaydee. Which resulted in a very unhappy duck pond as well....
After a good 15 minutes of screaming, Chris had managed to rid us of the bread. The ducks were very happy, might I add! When the crying seemed not to cease, we decided it was time to return home and give Kaydee her 2nd lunch for the day. We got back, ate a bottle, and Kaydee took a long nap on the couch. :) All was well again in the life of the little sweetheart.

Next time we visit the ducks, we will just watch them, not feed them. I think Kaydee like to share. Food at least...

All in all, it was a successful first visit to the pond.

Till next time,
Chris, Chels, and Kaydee <3

Flowers for Bruises

Kaydee has been sitting up on her own, grabbing things perfectly, standing on her own while holding on to something, and taking steps with Mom and Dad's help. Now, with all this growing and movement comes a lot of bumps and bruises apparently, which tend to freak me out. Yesterday, she was holding her self up on a piece of furniture, and decided she wanted to eat it. She leaned forward too fast and ended up banging her little jaw on it. She looked up at me, gave me the lip, and started crying. Later that night, she was sitting up on her changing table and holding my hand... she whipped herself back and hit her head on the sidebar of her changing table....same thing, lip, then tears. I am beginning to understand these things are bound to happen, but it hurts me to see her cry, and the lower lip is just a KILLER! So today, we decided to take it easy, go for a walk around the kitchen, and then head outdoors to soak up the sun. :)

While outside, Kaydee stumbled across a little flower, and proceeded to spend 30 minutes looking at it and caressing the grass. When I tried to pick her up, she would screech, and the minute I set her back in the grass, she would squeal with excitement. The Mom in me gave in, and stayed out there with her until she got hungry. :) Here are some pictures from her little adventure.

The flower took her little bumps away. :)

Wish us better luck!!!!

Reminiscing the Beginning, Embracing the Present

In mid January 2010, Chris took our puppy Mickey out to go potty. I stayed upstairs in our perfectly beautiful apartment in downtown San Diego just a block away from Balboa Park and a 20 minute walk from the San Diego zoo. I had been feeling different for about a month, and we decided I should take a pregnancy test. I waited and waited for the result to show, and once it did, I checked it over and over again. Once reality FINALLY hit me, I ran down the stair and out the glass doors of our apartment, to find Chris and Mickey awaiting the wonderful news. It started.

Chris and I had been working two very difficult jobs, in horrible conditions for a company that ran us into the ground. Life was great. We had a beautiful apartment, a new baby puppy, we went to the zoo, to Disneyland, we could go anywhere and do anything we wanted. And now we had a little addition on it's way to join us foe our journey. We were so excited, nervous, and had NO idea what to expect.

Hearing her first heart beat at 10 weeks was wonderful. We then waited 5 more weeks and got a 4D ultra sound with my Dad and Chris. It was a girl. :) She blew bubbles, had hic-ups(which she still has all the time) and was moving around like a Mexican jumping bean. We had chosen the name Kaydence, which means rhythm. It ended up being a perfect name for the little one, because as my pregnancy progressed, She moved every day at 2-3 in the afternoon, and kept me up all night dancing her little dances as I tried to sleep. :)

Kaydence May was born on September 3rd, 2010. She was delivered by c-section because of pregnancy complications, and I would not dilate more than 4 cm in i don't know HOW many hours. She was a beautiful 7 pounds, 6 ounces and was greeted by her Dad, her Mom, and her Papa. Chris held her for the very first time, and he was so adorably nervous.
I was still recovering from the epidural and surgery, and was not able to feel my arms, and could not hold Kaydee until about 2-3 hours after her birth. Until them, she stayed with Chris and Papa.
When I was finally able to hold my daughter, it was the most wonderful and amazing experience I have ever encountered. I wanted to share it with the world, and was so grateful to have Chris and my Dad there with me. When I held that little girl, nothing was coming between her, Chris, and I. That was it. There she was. Beautiful.
Since then, Kaydee has grown so fast. As a Mother, many of you know how hard and wonderful that is to watch all at the same time.

And BAM. In that many photos she is one week short of 5 months old. Smart, adorable, funny, and magical little Kaydence. If we could give her everything in the world, we would. If we could give her the sun, we would. If we could hand her the moon to play with and a shooting star to ride on, we would. But above all else, what we can and will give her is all the love in this world, no matter what. We will protect her from all that we can, and share with her all that she wishes.

There is no question, the last 5 months has been the best of our life as a couple, and as a family. We wouldn't trade it for the world. <3

We are truly blessed to have the people we do that love and support our daughter as much as we do. I feel sad for those who have chosen not to share her with us, but life is as life is.

Chris and I have fallen in love all over again. With each other, and with this wonderful little girl.

Until next time,
Chris, Chels, and Kaydence
